Job Purpose:

An Electrical Engineer IV will be responsible for project development and execution of delivery systems engineering and consulting services for clients across the US. They will work on and lead multi-disciplined project teams, creating industry-leading designs for new builds, upgrades, and redevelopments on various projects, including substations, delivery systems, renewable generation, and institutional and industrial facilities. This position will influence the future of the resiliency and reliability of the electric grid.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects that involve the preparation of protection and control designs of substation relay and breaker replacements, including transformers, feeders, buses, and transmission line protection.
  • Perfrom quality assurance checks of the designs produced by the electrical engineers and designers.
  • Develop the project work breakdown structure to organize and plan project execution, budget, and personnel.
  • Design complex protection and control schemes.
  • Prepare bill of materials, protection and control elementary diagrams, wiring and interconnection diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules.
  • Participate in one-lines, three-lines, DC/AC schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams, layout diagrams, calculations of the design for sizing equipment, and cabling.
  • Conduct technical training on safety and new engineering skills for the project team.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Requires 5 years of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience.

  • Must have experience in each of the following skills:

    • Calculating AC/DC cable sizing for material ordering

    • Calculating AC/DC panel board sizing/withstand

    • Developing 1-Line/3-Line

    • Developing schematics for the installation of new/existing protective relaying

    • Schematic to wiring diagram checks

    • Understanding of industry standards including ANSI, IEEE, and NEC
