Job Summary:

As a NETA Technician – Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for electrical testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of High, Medium, and Low voltage power systems, ensuring the reliability and safety of critical electrical infrastructure.

 

Technicians will work with industry-leading test equipment, including:

Megger & Fluke test sets
Primary Injection Testing equipment
Doble 6150 diagnostic systems
Omicron MRCT & EZCT testers
Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR) & Winding Resistance testers
M4000 & M4100 test sets
Power Quality Meters for voltage & harmonic analysis
VLF (Very Low Frequency) cable testing
Gas Analyzers for SF6 monitoring
CT Testers & relay calibration tools
Hot sticks for live-line work & high-voltage testing

 

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive electrical testing on substations, relay systems, transformers, circuit breakers, CTs, PTs, cables, and grounding systems.
Perform relay protection & control testing for power distribution systems.
Troubleshoot electrical failures and commission new equipment using NETA-certified procedures.
Prepare and maintain detailed test reports, repair logs, and maintenance documentation.
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools for power quality analysis, primary injection testing, and insulation resistance testing.
Adhere to strict safety policies, including LOTO, Arc Flash, and Grounding procedures.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities:

Pre-employment drug screening & background check required.
Ability to work overtime and travel nationwide.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.

 

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

Experience with relay testing, circuit breaker diagnostics, and insulation resistance testing.
Strong troubleshooting skills using Megger, Omicron, and Doble equipment.
Understanding of substation protection schemes, relay coordination, and electrical schematics.
Experience in power systems commissioning & maintenance.

 

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology OR equivalent military experience preferred.
2 – 4 years of relevant industry experience.
NETA Level II Certification or equivalent required.

 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 70 lbs.
